ELOISE RAAB
I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I am of dual nationality and work fluently in English, French and Spanish.
Art Psychotherapy is a form of Psychotherapy that offers art making as another avenue for expression, alongside talking. Above all, it involves creating a space where you feel safe, respected and supported without judgement. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the therapy and should be based on trust. This way we can explore difficult emotional topics together and at your own pace. I am here to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, others and the reasons that may have led you to therapy.
The creative element of art psychotherapy can feel daunting, I reassure you that the art materials are simply proposed as a tool to help facilitate self-expression and understanding; they form part of the communication and can be particularly helpful when feelings and experiences have no words or feel too overwhelming. It is important to note that the art you create is seen purely as a form of expression and never in terms of artistic skill or diagnostic tool. You do not need any previous artistic experience for this type of therapy and there is absolutely no pressure to express yourself in this way if you feel more comfortable talking.
My training in Art therapy is based on a psychodynamic approach. A psychodynamic approach explores how our past, particularly our early childhood, and other impactful experiences in our lives often inform how we behave and think. So much of our behaviours are unconscious and unpacking / understanding them can help us unlock vicious cycles of negative thinking and emotional pain. I am here to support you through this process.
I have experience working in a variety of settings, facilitating both group and individual sessions with children, adolescents, adults and families. These include primary and secondary schools, eating disorder clinics, refugee centres, community centres and hospices. I have particular experience in working with anxiety, depression, self-harm, panic attacks, low self-esteem, eating disorders, loss, miscarriage, perinatal MH and fertility difficulties.
I have previously run specialist groups that focus on Perinatal Mental Health. I am passionate about working with new mothers and fathers as they navigate the magnitude of changes that come with becoming a parent.

Eloïse creates a space which is safe and welcoming. During therapy, I continuously co-create the process and open up in my own pace. In our sessions, I feel safe to step into the unknown and discover things that are beyond my initial therapy objectives.
Eloïse has been a great support, following me for just under a year at the centre. She has provided a safe space fitted to my needs during our weekly sessions. I would recommend art therapy to anyone who isn’t always comfortable with verbal communication and who would like to try something new.
By providing an environment that is safe, attentive and caring, Éloïse allows me to grow through art and words, with an analysis that is always both accurate and encouraging.
