Liz Kent
I have been practising as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist in private practice since 2019, and when training, in a clinic setting (2015-2019) I am an accredited member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), and the Foundation for Counselling & Psychotherapy (FPC). I am also an artist and writer.
I offer long term, open ended psychotherapy and time limited psychotherapy (up to 12 weeks). I have experience of working with adults across all age groups.
I work with relationship difficulties, creative blocks, depression, loss/bereavement, anxiety, unhelpful patterns of behaviour, loss of meaning, addiction problems, self-esteem and confidence.
Therapy is a useful space when we feel there is something we can’t quite get at or find, when we have trouble with finding meaning in life. Perhaps you notice yourself repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour or feel stuck in your relationships or in your working life? Maybe day to day living feels dull, uncreative and disconnected. Perhaps you are experiencing feelings of loneliness and anxiety or feeling overwhelmed and out of balance emotionally. Would you like to make meaningful changes? Are you seeking to understand the choices you make?
I offer a safe, contained, confidential space where you will be listened to, and where we can explore and think together about your feelings and your situation, where you have the chance to explore in depth those issues that stop you from living life how you would like to. We would explore together how unhelpful, repetitive patterns and unconscious processes may be holding you back. Finding meaning through creative thinking, I would be interested in working with dreams, symbols and images.
Initially, please contact me by email. We will then have a brief phone conversation, after which I will invite you to attend a session face to face. This offers you the space to explore what you would like to bring and decide whether you would like to work together.
