Pete Brown
Pete Brown is a systemic family therapist and supervisor working in private practice. After many years working in social Care and CAMHS (Child & Adolescent mental health services) he is now semi-retired. For many years he has been involved in the field of positive parenting and has helped to develop the NVR parenting approach based on the principles of connection before correction and strike when the iron is cold (dealing with issues at neutral times instead of at heated times). Pete is a great advocate for parental self care, to help reduce parental burnout. He is also interested in the related idea of professional self care to help reduce burnout in the caring professions. Pete writes articles and frequently guest edits a family therapy magazine, regularly contributing to ongoing ideas in the field. More info about Pete can be found at www.petebrown.org.uk
