Sarah has been a student of yoga for over 20 years; she started practicing as a teenager (thanks to the books borrowed from the local library!) and has been teaching since 2013. Sarah’s approach is deeply rooted in the therapeutic teachings of T.K.V. Desikachar and the Viniyoga tradition. Since completing her 200hr qualification, she has undertaken professional development in prenatal yoga, postnatal yoga and embodied anatomy& physiology. Sarah is interested in the somatic experience of yoga which is influenced by movement modalities such as Qi Gong, and Feldenkrais- influences, which are evident in her teaching style. Sarah’s main focus as a teacher is to encourage students to find balance, ease and comfort in their bodies and in their yoga practice. She seeks to teach movement focused on the individual and aims to create a safe, fun, inclusive, non-competitive environment where students can fully explore themselves and inquire within.
I’ve been doing pre-natal yoga with Sarah every week since 14 x weeks and have absolutely loved it. Sarah has this unique ability to make every class interesting, relaxing, and as physically challenging as you like. In the early stages of pregnancy, I found her classes helped me stay calm and mindful of the changes in my body. Now, I have learnt so much from her and feel more physically and mentally prepared for childbirth. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a calm, mindful, safe and rewarding pre-natal yoga class.”
