Every mum and baby is different, every challenge framed by unique circumstances and I get immense satisfaction when working with families to achieve their feeding goals. With a background in homeopathy, I can offer a more holistic perspective for women who are looking for a natural approach to wellbeing for mother and child. But whatever your goals, I’d love to help.
Some of the many issues I can offer support with: Antenatal preparation for breastfeeding, Tongue tie assessment & referral, Engorgement, Mastitis, Blocked Ducts, Nipple pain, Re-lactation, Increasing supply, Oversupply, Colic, Reflux, Weaning, Position & Attachment, Premature babies, Breast refusal and weaning – to name but a few. Where necessary, I liaise with other healthcare professionals – including GPs, Consultants and Osteopaths.

I offer private 1-1 home visits to help women through their breastfeeding journey.
Alternatively, I offer more affordable 1 consultations at the Sunflower Centre on Monday mornings.

PRICING:
Initial consultation (1 ½ hours):  £90
During the session, we discuss your feeding challenges and goals. I take a full history, observe a feed and work with you to develop strategies and a feeding plan that works for you and your baby. If necessary, I do referrals and follow up with comprehensive notes and telephone support.

Follow up consultation (up to 1 hour): £60

Antenatal preparation (2 hours)  £100
Allow two hours to discuss goals, past experience, concerns and how to prepare for feeding once your baby has arrived. We could do this either as a 2 hour session or 2 x 1 hour sessions.For Home visits, please see my website – https://www.pennyheywood.co.uk/lactation

ABOUT ME:
I am a local mum, a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Homeopath (RSHom). I qualified as a homeopath just as my first child was born – nearly 14 years ago. This ignited a real interest and passion for supporting women during this life changing transition into motherhood.
My breastfeeding training started 2014 and has been firmly rooted in the peer support programme based on ‘women supporting women’ – an ethos which is so powerful at this time of life. I  qualified as an IBCLC Lactation consultant some time ago and now work privately and in a voluntary capacity.
I offer free support at St Peter’s Bumps and Baby group (Monday 1 – 3pm) and I continue to volunteer at Deptford Breastfeeding group (Tuesday 10 – 12)  and the Jamii Café ‘Feed On’ support group (Thursday 10 – 12). All the groups run term time only. The real value of these groups is the amazing mum to mum support. I love to see how mums who have had difficulties can come to a group and over a cup of tea, share and inspire another mum who is in a similar situation.
