HOMEOPATHY
Enter the realm of Homeopathy, a domain of holistic health and well-being. Our services include Classical Homeopathy, employing natural remedies and herbal medicine for a tailored approach. Embrace the potency of complementary health as we initiate a voyage to reinstate equilibrium and vigour, nurturing your body’s innate healing capabilities.
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a holistic system of treatment that stimulates the body’s natural tendency to heal itself. Homeopathy works on the principle of similars – individuals are treated with highly diluted substances that would produce similar symptoms if taken in a crude form to those experienced by the patient. For example, a remedy made from coffee might be used to treat insomnia. However, homeopathy is holistic so the skill of the homeopath is to assess all your symptoms, and the unique way they are experienced in order to select the most appropriate remedy. There are over 3,000 remedies in our materia medica to choose from. Remedies can be made from plants, minerals or animal matter.
Is homeopathy suitable for everyone?
Homeopathy is a gentle system of healing and so can be used to treat individuals of any age, including babies and children.
People have found homeopathy effective in relieving symptoms for a variety of conditions including:
- ‘Acutes’ – coughs, colds, flu, stomach upsets, childhood diseases etc.
- Allergies, including hayfever, eczema and asthma
- Hormonal problems
- Stress-related conditions such as insomnia, depression or anxiety
- Just not feeling quite right
Homeopathy can be used safely and effectively to help alleviate the symptoms of pregnancy and during childbirth.
What can I expect from treatment?
Homeopathy has much to offer in helping to reduce susceptibility to illness and alleviating symptoms. Children are particularly responsive to remedies. I am currently offering:
- New patients – adult £75, child £55
- Follow up – adult £60, child £45
- Acute 15 minute consultation £15 (existing patients only)
The above includes remedies and ongoing telephone support if necessary in between consultations.
Your first consultation could last for up to 1½ hours. During this session I aim to take a thorough case history. This involves finding out as much as I can about the nature of your symptoms – as well as understand a bit about your personality and lifestyle. In addition, I will ask also about your family and medical history – all of which are important for finding the right remedy.
Follow-ups last about half an hour.
Unless I am treating an acute condition, I will usually spend some time analysing your case after the consultation before sending you a remedy in the post.
How long will treatment take?
There are no hard and fast rules, everybody is different. Most people see discernable results fairly quickly; often they start to feel ‘better in themselves’ and will experience a gradual improvement in their symptoms. However, if you have been unwell for some time, it may take longer to return to health.
Should I continue taking treatment prescribed by my GP?
It is crucial to let me know of any other medication you are taking as this might influence the remedy I prescribe. If you are undergoing conventional treatment it is important that you retain your relationship with your doctor who can arrange any X-rays or tests you might require.
Homeopathy works on different principles to conventional medicine but the two can be complementary.
